Nine books that can make a difference in your life

This special feature is a list of nine small books that can make a difference in the way you look at life. My library is large, and getting larger, and it would be unfair to say these books were the only books that could make a mighty change in your life. Next year, I'll have a different list, I'm certain, but for now, here's the list of books that have made a major difference in my life, and which can make a difference in yours, as well. Plus, they make great low-cost gifts for people you care about, teams you're trying to motivate, or yourself!

The Greatest Salesman in the World,
by Og Mandino.

Salesman has been around forever, it seems, and it is still being read by successive generations. Why does it make such a difference? The story is nice, but it's the laws of success that, properly applied, make a difference in your life.

The Richest Man in Babylon
by George S. Clason

It's not enough to earn money, you have to keep it. This small book has been the textbook of many a wealthy man. A quick read, it will change how you look at money.

I Dare You!
by William H. Danforth

This book can be the catalyst that can help you put change into motion. It has the audacity to dare you to action. Are you brave enough to read it?

The Power of Positive Thinking
by Norman Vincent Peale

Long the textbook of people who want to make a difference in their life. Peale was one of the great believers in the human soul.

Notes from a Friend
by Anthony Robbins

This small book is a condensation of Tony's great truths of personal achievement. It tells you specific ways to make a change in your life. For years, Tony's group has given this book out to people who were down on their luck, under the belief that you have to be taught how to succeed. Although all of Tony's stuff is great, this is an easy way to start.

How to Win Friends and Influence People
by Dale Carnegie

There's a reason why this small book has endured the ages... the truths contained within it are life-changers. Learn how to empower your actions with others. Learn how to put everyday interaction to work for you.

Think and Grow Rich
by Napoleon Hill

This book hasn't always aged well, but the truths within it are ready to be mined by the success seeker. This book is considered by many as the start of the modern self-help movement.

You Can Negotiate Anything
by Herb Cohen

I'm a firm believer in this book, if only because it changes the way you act towards people, not only in a stance of negotiation, but also in personal communication. Herb is a professional negotiator. Among other things, he negotiated trade agreements, labor disputes, hostage situations, and monetary settlements for major corporations and the US Government.

The Choice,
by Og Mandino

What? Two Og Mandino books in one list? Yep. This book will help you learn where to put your priorities. It teaches you the real reason why you do what you do.
